SNORKELING (Skin Diving)

Before you go

One of the easiest and most pleasurable sports there is.  Simply put on your mask, snorkel and fins and off you go.  However, always plan well before you go.  Do you need extra anti-fog for your mask?  How long ago did you wear those fins?  Are the straps still good and not going to break from old age.  Always check your gear thoroughly before you pack them.

Research your destination

In this day of Photoshop and picture manipulation, ensure you have more than one source for your destination information.  I’ve stayed at places that look awesome on the website only to find out that I was actually staying in the back room with holes in the mosquito nets big enough to drive trucks through.

Training

If you haven’t been diving in a while, it’s always good to take a refresher course and/or go back and study up on your latest certification handbooks.  Keeping up to date is a great way to feel safe and secure when you’re one hundred feet underwater.
